Before you can begin e-Claiming you must contact the Office of Hearing Services. OHS will provide you with a list of instructions on how to go about obtaining your Minor CSID and connecting to the Medicare web facility.

You will also be asked to provide OHS/Medicare with a Test Batch. Before creating your test batch you should go into Lists|Minor CSIDs and enter a dummy Minor CSID such as HRD00001

The Minor CSID is allocated by OHS and is inserted into the Z12 record of the e-Claim batch file. If your practice comprises a number of permanent sites, you can obtain a Minor CSID and Authentication File for each site and each site can lodge its own e-Claims independently.

Once a test batch has been submitted and approved OHS will notify you of your username, password and Minor CSID. Enter the Minor CSID in Lists|Minor CSIDs then connect to the Medicare web site and download your Authentication File. It is strongly recommended that you store a copy of your Authentication File in the ..\EClaims folder
