Items are used in Claims. The Item Schedule is set by the Office of Hearing Services and is typically updated annually. HearSoft Pty Ltd provides a script which SYSDBA can use in Query to batch-update items, or alternatively users can modify items. When adding or modifying an item be sure to check

The Item Amount and Tax; effective tax rates are calculated automatically and are useful when managing Custom Tax Codes in QuickBooks/Reckon
Tick the Test Item box if it is an item used to claim for assessments
Tick the Fitting Item box if it is an item used to claim for a fitting
Tick the Replacement Item if it is a device replacement item
Tick the Maintenance Item box if the item has a maintenance payment attached to it
Tick the Binaural Item box if the item is only used for clients with binaural fittings
Tick the Rehab Item box if the item is a defined rehabilitation item (not a device fitting item)
Tick the Need Current Voucher if the client must have a current OHS voucher in order for the item to be claimed
The Active box should normally be ticked; it is there to allow for future changes to the OHS Item schedule

These settings are used when checking claims for errors, so it is important they are correct. If in doubt, contact HearSoft Pty Ltd for assistance
