Updating OHS Device Lists

Given the frequent changes to the OHS Approved Devices lists, it is recommended that you manage those updates yourself directly in Lists|Devices. The easy way to add new devices is:

1.Find a similar, existing device from the same manufacturer
2.Click the Duplicate button - a new record will be added with the same device details
3.Modify the details as needed... typically this will simply changing the Device Code
4.Save your new device record

HearAid 5.0 has a built-in process for updating OHS Approved Devices lists but because the OHS list does not contain details about battery size, microphones and other information HearAid stores in Lists|Devicesm this method is only suggested as a last resort:

1.Download and install the Device List script updater from www.hearsoft.com.au/ha5devices.exe
2.Log in to HearAid 5.0 as SYSDBA
3.Select Database|Query in the Program Navigator
4.If this is the first time you have updated the Device List this way:
- Click the Load SQL button and load the file ..\HearSoft\HearAid 5.0\Tables\T_New_Devices.ddl
- Click the Execute SQL button
5.Click the Load SQL button and load the file ..\HearSoft\HearAid 5.0\New_Suppliers_xxxxxx.sql, where xxxxxx will be the year and month of the update. For example, the updated list for September 2008 will be New_Suppliers_200809.sql
6.Click the Execute SQL button
7.Click the Load SQL button and load the file ..\HearSoft\HearAid 5.0\Update_Suppliers.sql
8.Click the Execute SQL button
9.Click the Load SQL button and load the file ..\HearSoft\HearAid 5.0\New_Devices_xxxxxx.sql button, where xxxxxx will be the year and month of the update. For example, the updated list for September 2008 will be New_Devices_200809.sql
10.Click the Execute SQL button
11.Click the Load SQL button and load the file ..\HearSoft\HearAid 5.0\Update_Devices.sql
12.Click the Execute SQL button

Check Lists|Devices and Lists|Suppliers to make sure the update was successful.

It is important that the update scripts are executed in the correct sequence!
