The Performance Indicators (PI) program was developed in 1990 in response to the need for a comprehensive Allied Health Patient Information Management system, arising from government moves to casemix funding. The program also addresses the need for a PC-based feeder system for the hospital costing programs which can connect to central patient master databases via HL7. The PI program is the most economically accessible commercial software package capable of both providing meaningful data collection/analysis and allowing allied health professions to develop standardised clinical measures. The program has been purchased by over 50 institutions Australia-wide.
